I am, at best, fashion-infirm and have never owned anything like these. I would honestly appreciate an explanation as to what is better about these than simply going with regular shoes or full boots.

different strokes I guess. For me expensive shoes are limited edition Vans that aren’t on sale so they’re 70 bucks instead of 45. But usually I just wait till I find something on sale. I do need to buy some nice looking boots soon though so I’m sure that’ll be at least 150 dollar purchase the Walmart boots I’ve used the last two years are too damn uncomfortable but they were bought on a “I need these right now” basis.
